Who are we and what do we do?
Both Maritza and I are full time Missionaries with Youth with a Mission. We’re based in Denver, Colorado. We are super passionate about using our gifts and talents to inspire other believers to step out in radical faith for God. We are not content to live a normal life. We work daily, training young 20 somethings in the things of God, challenging, mentoring, teaching & doing a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smooth.
We are a family of 5 with our three children, Seth, Samuel and Tirzah.
I (Maritza) am Colombian and I moved to the USA with my parents in 1996. I attended DTS and the School of Evangelism at YWAM Minneapolis in 2000. After completing my training I joined full time staff to disciple students and serve in various capacities. In 2004 I attended both a School of Worship and Phase II Leadership training school in Denver Colorado. At the end of 2004 I joined YWAM Denver’s full time staff and I continue to serve there.
I (Mark) am from New Hampshire. I did DTS and Phase II at YWAM Denver in 2002. Once I finished my training I felt God had called me to join full time staff for a season of apprenticeship.
Youth with a Mission (YWAM) is an international missionary training and sending organization. Our work focuses on three main areas. Training, Evangelism and Mercy ministry.
As full-time YWAM missionaries in Denver, we help train students to go on short-term overseas outreaches. For some of the students that come for t
raining, it’s their first time away from home and possibly even their first time getting to know God on a personal level. It is a sweet blessing to share times like these with the students!
We are also part of the leadership team that runs a lot of the daily things that happen at the base.
We have, together with our staff, trained and worked with over 300 students and participated in and led many overseas outreaches to destinations such as: The States, Mexico, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Argentina, South Africa, Thailand, Myanmar, India, China, England, The Gambia and Mauritania.
